Frayed Denim

Zara frayed denim jeans | Zara bomber | Cos white t-shirt | Adidas Stan Smiths | Zara silver backpack | Amelia Jane London pompom keyring

-----------------------------------------

I feel like every time I write a new post I have a new obsession... cue: frayed denim! I've been seeing a lot of it on Instagram recently, and I was on the hunt for the perfect pair. I'm generally a Topshop jean snob (yep!), but when I was strolling around Zara recently, I came across these and the frayed ends caught my attention straight away. The blue denim is such a nice colour for spring / summer, and I love how although they're semi-slouchy, they're still a flattering fit. My favourite thing about them, though, is those huge frays... we're not just talking a little destroyed here, they're proper ripped up at the ends and I love it! They tick all the boxes when it comes to cool relaxed fit jeans and I'll definitely be living in them for the coming months.

Continuing on with my love for pink and bombers these days (can't you tell?), I paired the jeans with this really nice light bomber from Zara. I love the pale pink sleeves with the contrasting grey. It's soo light that it's perfect for layering on chiller days, or wearing on its own for summer.

My backpack of the moment is a main feature of this outfit again... I just love the pop of metallic it brings to my looks. You can also never go wrong with a simple white tee and adidas stan smiths - I live in both of these and revolve so many of my outfits around them.

I'm really loving experimenting with pastels and cool-tone colours at the moment. Looks like these are getting me very excited for the summer to really begin and to start adding even more to my outfits!

Spring Vibes

Dr Marten's - Asos | Asos pink glittery socks | Zara silver backpack | Zara embroidered silk bomber | Asos pink bomber jacket (sold out?) | Cos white tee (not online) | Topshop coated jeans (old) | Ray Ban sunglasses

--------------------------------

SPRING! It's finally been showing its face these past few days, and it's definitely about time now that it's almost May (gasp!). Although I love layering etc. in winter, I'm always very happy once the spring/summer months roll around. Who isn't all about them bright evenings and longer days?

One thing I have been obsessing over this spring is *drumroll*... pink. As a self-proclaimed neutral and monochrome lover, I definitely didn't think I'd see the day that I'd be lusting after all things pink. It's not just any shade of pink I'm loving though, it's all about the dusty rose pink for me. This pink bomber I'm wearing above I picked up on Asos, and I was so excited when I saw it. I had had my eye on a similar one from Mango, which sold out very fast, so as soon as I saw this I was all over it! I reeeeally didn't need another bomber... but I reeeeeally needed this pink one. Sold!
As I mentioned in my previous post, I've also got a thing for glitter socks these days, so a pink pair was obviously a must and I absolutely love these. Such a cheap and cheerful way to add some interest and colour to an outfit.

The rest of this outfit is pretty simple. I'm wearing my favourite coated jeans from Topshop, and my trusty docs. Basic white tees are one of my wardrobe musts, and this one from Cos stores is a favourite - oversized and really good quality. I'm absolutely loving this embroidered bomber from Zara, I get so much wear out of these kind of things as they're so perfect for both day and evening wear. I love the addition of the flowers to add that perfect spring/summer vibe. I'm all over this silk bomber trend and I can't wait to live in them for the summer months!

Beanies 'n' Bombers

Zara Metallic Backpack | Dr Marten Shoes - Asos | Asos glitter socks | Sick Studs bobble beanie | Fila Tshirt | Light Before Dark bomber jacket | Ray Ban round sunglasses

---------------------------------

It's been a while since I posted... I promised to be more regular with my posts and so far that hasn't exactly gone to plan with life getting in the way and all that... BUT, I have time off for Easter and some posts planned, so I'm hoping to have lots going up in the very near future! Check out my Instagram though, where I post almost every day the different outfits I'm wearing that don't always make it up on my blog.

I wore this outfit last weekend on one of them perfect Spring days - sunny, and chilly enough to still wear a beanie and coat! I'm obsessed with this beanie I received from Sick Studs (@sickstuds) recently. It's literally my new favourite accessory, and I had been on the hunt for a grey bobble beanie before I got this, so it's perfect! Check out Sick Studs online, or in Tola Vintage in Temple Bar where there's LOADS more fabulous hats, bags and clothing. I already have my eye on more!

Another of my obsessions at the moment are these Dr Marten brogues I very recently (and boldly) added to my shoe collection. I cannot resist a good mannish pair of shoes, and with these almost out of stock on Asos, I had to swoop in fast. I love their matte black finish and simple design, they literally go with everything and can be worn dressed down or smart. I'm in love.

I'm also loving pairing my shoes, especially these Dr Marten ones, with glitter socks. I first picked up a pair in Cos, and since then I've found myself adding to my collection. I love the quirky touch they add to simple outfits. I'm also always all over anything that adds a 90's vibe to my outfits...so they're a big yes from me!

As I've said lots of times before, I'm a big fan of metallic for adding interest to outfits. I also love a good backpack for a casual day time look. So basically, this Zara one is the perfect match. I love being able to add a pop of silver with this bag to brighten up outfits.

All of the outfit details are linked above... sorry not sorry if you're tempted.

Knitted Joggers

Zara Ribbed Knitted Joggers | Asos White Padded Navy Satin Bomber | Zara jumper | Nike Air Force 1's | Topshop backpack (old) | Amelia Jane London Pom Pom | Zadig et Voltaire watch | Reebok Classics

----------------------------

So, this outfit features my two current clothing obsessions - the Zara Knitted Joggers and the Asos White navy satin bomber. I've literally been finding it hard to reach for anything else in my wardrobe since these have been welcomed into it.

There's something about the weekend and head-to-toe knitwear that screams match made in heaven... I'm absolutely loving co-ords these days, they're really making a big comeback in the stylish loungewear scene and I'm all over it. I particularly love the knitted kind, so when I saw these additions to Zara it was love at first sight! I bought the matching cardigan and jogger set in the sand colour, and went back for the grey joggers. There's a third darker colour in store, and it's taking all my willpower not to make them ones mine also... (watchthisspace)

This Asos White bomber has been on my wishlist for a very long time. The charcoal colour that was online prior to this navy one sold out so fast that I was left lusting after it for months. I knew when this navy one appeared online I was going to have to invest. It definitely hasn't been a mistake either, particularly with the freezing weather we're having in Dublin at the moment. This coat is the closest thing to wearing a duvet you're going to get when you leave your bed - bliss!

These kind of looks are my favourite at the moment - casual / sports luxe. You really can't go wrong with a good jogger set and trainers, and to be honest, when comfort looks this good, it's most definitely a win in my books.

Comfy Casuals

Champion Jumper (Vintage) | Adidas White T-shirt | Topshop coated leigh jeans | Vans old-skool shoes | Amelia Jane London pom pom keyring

------------------------------------

Nothing screams comfort like an oversized jumper... the bigger, the better! This is why I tend to roam not only the women's vintage sections, but also through the mens for quality finds like this one featured.  This style of jumper is actually one of my wardrobe staples. I (unashamedly...) own quite the variety of  jumpers similar to this one, but most feature a slogan of some sort, so I like that this a is a plain one. They can be worn in so many different ways and provide the perfect effortless and comfy look which was what I was going for here.
For this outfit, I paired the jumper with my coated Topshop leigh jeans to add edge and interest to the look, and make it a little less sportswear/loungewear-like! I'm also wearing my favourite old-skool vans which, along with my adidas trainers, are definitely the favourites amongst my shoe collection.

---------------------------------------------

Firstly... Happy New Year! Hope everyone has a great 2016 and a successful start to their "New Year, New Me!" I'm not really one for new years resolutions, but for one thing, I definitely aim to update this blog on a more regular basis throughout this year and continue to improve on the quality of the posts. I've really loved being able to write about and share my outfits in more detail than a single Instagram post, so expect to see a lot more posts from me this year!

Surprisingly this Christmas, I never ventured into the sales, online or in store at all until the last day of the Christmas period. Unsurprisingly... I seem to have missed out on most of the good stuff by the time I did have a look around! I was expecting to be tempted by loads in Zara in particular, with the huge new store in Dundrum Town Centre, but I managed to come out with just two purchases (good and bad thing I guess...!)
The first I picked up is this black Sheepskin Gilet featured in the first few pictures. This was something I was quite surprised to see on sale. Topshop had similar versions of this last year which I had had my eye on but never bought, so I was pleasantly surprised when I saw this hanging up amongst the sale racks in Zara. While it's not ideal for the really chilly winter days to come, it works well with a thick jumper under or a scarf thrown over, and will definitely come into good use once the Spring rolls around.
The second thing I purchased is the sweater featured under the gilet. You can never really go wrong with a good jumper and with no other ones in this colour in my wardrobe, it immediately caught my attention. It's a good oversized fit and of a high quality, so I was also happy to see this reduced to a very reasonable price.

The main feature of both the outfits featured above, however, is the white jeans. White jeans in winter? - I say YES! As something that the majority seem to largely keep for the spring and summer months, I for one think that the pairing of thick knitwear and white jeans makes for the ideal crisp and fresh winter outfit. It's nice to be able to break free from the standard black jean outfit and add that pop of freshness into a dull winter's day. It's also nice to be able to bend the fashion rules a little and experiment with something new and different every once in a while!
I think if you're breaking out the white jeans in winter, it works best to pair them with slouchy and chunky knitwear, avoid wearing them with overly bright colours and stick to a more neutral/monochrome palette, layer them up with scarves and coats, pair them with different textures like wool and sheepskin.. and maybe save them for the days when it's not torrential rain outside!

Satin Sundays

Zara Satin Embroidered Bomber (can't find it online?) | Topshop ripped jamie jeans | Topshop ponyskin brogues (old) | Cheap Monday tee (old) | Amelia Jane London pompom keyring

------------------------------------------

Zara alwaaaays gets it right. Seriously. You can always count on them to bring out a replica of the newest and hottest trends. With satin bombers all over the runways and set to be a big contender for S/S 2016, I was glad to be able to get my hands on one in advance. I first saw this bomber on Zara's Instagram when I was scrolling through my feed, and I loved it as soon as I saw it. I then took a trip to the flagship Dublin store in Dundrum recently, and as soon as I walked in the door on the right hand side of the shop I saw this beauty hanging up - fate! There was only a few of them there and I had a feeling it was going to be the kind of thing that would be snapped up very quickly so I decided to go for it then and there. Since buying it, I've seen it featured in numerous magazines, including Now and Look, so I'm very glad I went ahead and got it... otherwise I'd be having serious regrets! It's definitely more of a layering item for this time of year as it is so light (I threw a jacket on over this for heading out and about), but it will be perfect come spring and summer next year.
I also love how it can be worn casual, or dressed up for a more evening look with heels, which is what I hand in mind when I first bought it. I'm very excited to try it out in different ways, so expect to see a lot more of it on my Instagram/Blog in the next few months :)
